CFS / ME Book by Dr. DP Lewis

THE BOOK

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / ME Turning, Disability Toward Ability began as information for patients, and has now been expanded to include further research reports and results of current successful treatment.

It is written for those with CFS / ME, their carers and those interested in the direction of the latest developments.

Chapters deal with Explanation, Clinical Presentation, Diagnosis, Treatment Strategies and their Results.

The book illustrates the diverse nature of his condition, and provides insight and understanding, the first vital steps towards improvement.

It describes the principles of treatment and important elements of lifestyle management, replacing many of the uncertainties of CFS / ME, with a clear direction.

THE AUTHOR

Donald Lewis, after graduating from Melbourne University, Australia, moved into family medical practice.

In 1985 Dr Lewis first encountered CFS / ME, and he became aware of the difficulties and lack of understanding experienced by people with this illness. He recognised that the diagnosis, explanation and management was surrounded by uncertainty, and often accompanied by derision and scepticism, both from those who are close and those from whom help had been sought. He developed an expertise in their management as a steadily increasing stream of people with CFS / ME came to his clinic for treatment.

This book is currently unavailable as it is being revised and updated in the light of significant advances in understanding and recent research.
